This Page contains a copy of the Audit and Accountability Tips Policy.
The Audit and Accountability Committee is responsible for handling anonymous or ticket-based tips that concern members of the wider Foundation (where applicable), Foundation Command or any enforcement body. The Department is obligated to review every report equally regardless of reporter, allegations and the reported; and only dismiss claims if they are highly evidently made with false information, malicious intent, lack of context or any combination of these factors.Â
The following procedures and standards must be observed when handling an Anonymous Tips and Reports submission OR a Tips and Reports ticket within the Audit and Accountability Committee Server:
When a Tips and Reports ticket is made, Analysts must acknowledge receipt of the ticket, and enquire if the reporter is able or willing to answer questions surrounding the report.
If the reporter agrees, these questions should be asked (in no particular order):
If the reporter is at an immediate risk of harm from the person they choose to report
The most applicable reason for reporting, including but not limited to:
A crime has been witnessed,
The reporter is a victim of a crime,
The perpetrator poses a risk to the reporter or others,
The perpetrator has committed a real world crime on our platforms,
Further information where necessary to establish a basis to investigate/validate claims given.
Where possible or requested by a/the reporter in a Tips and Reports ticket, the Audit and Accountability Committee may offer a one-on-one or Command meeting by text or voice to learn more about the reported issue so that it may assist an investigation. Notably, this is not an interrogation or hearing; however the contents of the meeting are subject to the same standards and protections.
Analysts who serve in both the Audit and Accountability Committee AND the Community Moderation Team (excl. Interns) are not permitted to action on a Tip; this measure exists to prevent miscommunication between staff and the Community Moderation Team. When necessary, Moderation Command will directly be notified.
Analysts who have a Conflict of Interest within a Tip are not permitted access to view said Tip. Members of AAC Command who have a Conflict of Interest are instead not permitted to communicate to the reporter or participate in the investigation of the Tip, however may offer appropriate input when required or requested.
Members of AAC Medium Command are strictly forbidden from handling reports regarding members of the Audit and Accountability Committee; these reports should be redirected to High Command respectively.
Reports regarding Medium and High Command should be redirected to Central Command.
Above all else, all Tips and Reports and Anonymous Tips and Reports are classified Secret, including the existence of said report.
Members of the Audit and Accountability Committee may not claim the existence (or lack thereof) of a report against a particular person in any context.
